Kids Fishout August 2010
The second Kids fishout for 2010 was held today. It was a dismal day with unrelenting rain (See first image of Rotorua) and flooding in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. In spite of the conditions more than 200 young anglers braved the elements to learn to cast a fly and catch a trout from the Fish and Game Pond. Below are some of the images captured during the second Kids fishout of 2010.

Kids Fishout July 2010
The first kids fishout at the Fish and Game Ngongotaha Hatchery was held today. Approx 404 young anglers caught a trout, many for the first time. Here are some of the images captured .

Sunday 14th November 2010
Cost is $3.00. All young anglers (ages 6 to 14) are given a casting lesson and then a chance to catch a trout from the fish and game pond. A certificate is given to each angler to celebrate their achievement.
Morning fishing session is from 9.00 am to 12.00pm and the afternoon session is from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm. All equipment is supplied.

Kids fishout photos November 2009
The last kids fishout for 2009 was held on the 1st of November 2009. Nearly 300 children and young adults took the opportunity to learn how to cast a fly followed by catching a trout (some for the first time) from the fishout pond at the fish and game hatchery. Attached are photos of some of the successes on this day.
