Children’s Fishing Program at the Ngongotaha Hatchery -2011
Attached are the dates for the coming season:
Sunday 17th July 2011
Sunday 14th August 2011
Sunday 11th September 2011
Sunday 13th November 2011
Cost is $3.00. All young anglers (ages 6 to 14) are given a casting lesson and then a chance to catch a trout from the fish and game pond. A certificate is given to each angler to celebrate their achievement.
Morning fishing session is from 9.00 am to 12.00pm and the afternoon session is from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm. All equipment is supplied.

In addition there will be coffee, soft drinks and a sausage sizzle .

Kids fishout November 2010
The last kids fishout for 2010 was held today at the Ngongotaha Fish and game Hatchery. Hundreds of children and young adults were taught to cast a fly and then catch a fish in the fishout pond.

Last Kids fishout for 2010
The last kids fishout for 2010 is on

Kids fishout September 2010
The third kids fishout for 2010 was held today and once again it was a wet and miserable day (See first image of Rotorua). Despite the rain 164 keen young anglers caught a trout from the fish and game pond. This fishout was shared with displays by EBOP, DOC and Rotorua District Council as part of Conservation week.

Kids Fishout August 2010
The second Kids fishout for 2010 was held today. It was a dismal day with unrelenting rain (See first image of Rotorua) and flooding in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. In spite of the conditions 121 young anglers braved the elements to learn to cast a fly and catch a trout from the Fish and Game Pond.
